Dividify is based on a system that I started developing in the summer of 2021, when I graduated undergrad and began working as a project manager in the construction industry. In that role, there are an endless amount of emails, details, and things to keep track of, and it is a constant prioritization of what to do next.
I experimented with list-based apps to keep track of everything and the same color-based prioritization system that Dividify uses today. It was crucial to my success, but it did not come close to what I needed for organization and depth.
Project management software did not apply here because the ones I had access to through my company were awful and nobody used them thoroughly. Plus, a workplace project management system doesn’t help with keeping track of the things I need to do in my life on evenings and weekends and at home.
In 2024, I started flying to Chicago from Minneapolis every weekend to get my MBA from The University of Chicago-Booth School of Business while working full-time. Now, my list-based system was really struggling to keep up. I wasted time trying to make the tools I had work to keep track of everything.
There are plenty of products in the personal management sector, but I didn’t like what I found. I found that everything was either list-based, which wasn’t powerful enough to build a house with, or was too complicated to use all the time for the little things that are simple enough to jot down on a post-it.
I built Dividify to be capable and useful at any level of complexity demanded, with as minimal time and input (clicks) as possible.
I have now been using it everyday for three months, tweaking it constantly, and it has made my life so much smoother. I am confident it will be able to help others the same.
